Sit down with us, slow down, and create something beautiful with your hands. In this beginner-friendly cultural craft workshop, we will introduce you to the patience, rhythm, and history of traditional Indigenous beading.
Guided step-by-step by local hands, you will learn the basics of working with beads and leather to craft your own high-quality keepsake - such as a traditional medicine pouch or a custom keychain to take home with you. If you don’t feel like beading on leather, you can choose to opt for felt. There is also the option to make a Dą̀ Zhǖr (Silverberry Seed) necklace, keychain, or mirror hanger. While our hands are busy, the room fills with storytelling, laughter, and genuine connection.
Duration: 2 Hours (1 PM to 3 PM)
What’s Included: All premium crafting supplies (hide, beads, threads, needles, felt, keychain ring, silverberries etc.) and a finished local, Southern Tutchone culturally handcrafted piece to keep.
