The land as our pharmacy.
Step onto the quiet trails of the southwest Yukon for a gentle, restorative journey into the world of traditional Indigenous plant medicine. To the untrained eye, the wilderness is beautiful scenery—but to our people, it is a living pharmacy that has healed, protected, and sustained us for generations.
On this slow-paced, grounding walk, we will introduce you to the local plant life and share the sacred botanical knowledge passed down through our family from our Matriarch, Marge Jackson. You’ll learn how to identify, respect, and traditionally harvest various plants, bark, berries, and medicines used for remedies, wellness, and daily health. It is a peaceful, eye-opening experience that invites you to see the forest not just as a place to hike, but as a source of life and healing.
After our walk together, you will have the opportunity to create your very own traditional medicine to take home with you – this will be a spruce pitch salve which is a traditional, plant-based healing balm made by infusing traditionally harvested spruce tree resin (pitch) into carrier oils and mixing it with other ingredients to create a salve. It is highly regarded in the Yukon for its natural antimicrobial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties
Duration: 4 Hours (Daytime)
Activity Level: Easy, slow-paced walking on flat dirt trails.
Price: $200 CAD per person
